Project 1 - SimpleToDO

SimpleToDO is an android app that allows building a todo list and basic todo items management functionality including adding new items, editing and deleting an existing item.

Time spent: 5 hours spent in total

The following required functionality is completed:

• User can view a list of todo items
• User can successfully add and remove items from the todo list
• User's list of items persisted upon modification and and retrieved properly on app restart

The following optional features are implemented:

• User can tap a todo item in the list and bring up an edit screen for the todo item and then have any changes to the text reflected in the todo list

The following additional features are implemented:

• List anything else that you can get done to improve the app functionality!

Here's a walkthrough of implemented user stories:

I enjoyed making this app! I learned a lot about how to use Andrios Studio, creating and working with the emulator, and how to create a simple app that is relevant to daily life. I had a challenge when the video tutorial didn't line up with what I was seeing on my laptop screen, but once I figured out what the tutorial was trying to accomplish I was able to replicate it to make my app work properly. This project allowed me to get a basic understanding of a new IDE, a new language (Kotlin) that is similar to ones I have worked with previously (Java), and I was able to see correlations with the steps and process of app development between iOS and Andriod, given my prior experience with the iOS Development course I took with Codepath.
