Look at the OLD_README.md to see the original one. Look at BAZEL_INSTRUCTIONS.md to get it working with Bazel. I personally use neovim (and macOS btw 🤣) and it worked for me in the bazel project and bazel-buildfarm. Let me know if things don't work and I can help you debug a bit.
