Legally accountable AI for autonomous vehicle operation
A Convergence Human & Technology research initiative
sovereign-drive is a private R&D initiative exploring the design and
formal validation of AI systems capable of assuming legal and operational
responsibility for autonomous vehicle control.
The target reliability threshold is 99.9999% a six-nines standard applied not only to uptime, but to decision correctness under all certified operating conditions.
This repository is the public-facing reference point for the project.
Core technical implementations, training pipelines, and certification
frameworks remain confidential.
- Formal accountability models for AI decision-making in mobility contexts
- Safety-critical system architecture for autonomous agents
- Legal liability frameworks adapted to AI-driven vehicle operation
- Fault-tolerance and zero-accident operational guarantees
- Human-AI interaction at handover boundaries
"An AI that cannot be held accountable should not be trusted with a steering wheel."
The project treats legal responsibility as a first-class engineering constraint not a post-deployment consideration. Every architectural decision flows from the question: can this system formally account for its actions in a court of law ?
