This version contains several bug fixes that have already been tested in refactor-bugfix-v1.9.6 for some time. They contain fixes of bugs that could lead to program crashes if multiple hits for the same input sequence were found, which is common if multiple references are provided. Only this version should be used now.

I just replaced a previous release in which one minor merge conflict was not fixed. Also the makefile had to be updated.
No other changes were made in this release.

If you are using the previous v1.9.6 release, and you fixed the merge minor merge conflict and the makefile, you can still use it. If you are using v1.9.5 or earlier, you should use this new release.

This release includes all features described in the publication Brasseur et al. 2023, "MitoGeneExtractor: Efficient extraction of mitochondrial genes from next-generation sequencing libraries" published in Methods in ecology and evolution.

The analyses conducted in Brasseur et al. 2023 have been done with v1.9.3.
The features described in Brasseur et al. 2023 are included in v1.9.5.

Version v1.9.3 is the first official release. The main difference to previous non-release versions are modified default paramters.
