Crime-Rates-in-the-US

Analysis in Python
The purpose of this report is to analyze the dataset of crime rates in mayor cities in the U.S., registered in three different years: 2000, 2005, and 2010. These cities were grouped in Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). Crimes were grouped in violent and property and were reported in incident by 100,000 population. Within the first group of violent crimes, we can find four types of crimes: murders and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. The second group of property crimes, includes: burglary, larceny-theft and motor vehicle theft. In this analysis, the variables that contribute the most to the rising crime rates were identified. The signifficance of the variation of crime rates over time were tested with ANOVA.
