This is a running joke in my friends group. Me had a big storm role through about 5 years ago and it totalled our local LJS. We all assumed that was the end, but nope, they rebuilt and are still operating. I haven’t been in many years, but I enjoy it.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•[Legal question] Theoretically, would the "entertainment only" purposes of copilot make it basically illegal to use in government/corporate settings?
3·5 天前I had to develop agentic solutions in Copilot Studio. It was easily the worse work I’ve ever had to do in IT, and I spent 4 years in GeekSquad/EasyTech before getting drafted to the pro league.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How come they don't make generic drugs for cats and dogs. I love my sisters buddy to death. Its just weird that all my meds are generic but animals are name brand. I just hate spend 250 every 3 mon.
1·12 天前It depends on the meds. We were doing a synthesized injection drug for my dog’s elbow dysplasia and arthritis, and that was a custom, specialized, expensive drug. The alternative to carprofen and gabapentin were cheap though. I think we got them and his allergy meds from Costco. Most expensive dog we ever had.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can I still bypass Microsoft account creation when reinstalling windows through the "reset this PC" option?
2·16 天前I asked what they have tried, I didn’t say they have to switch. I was providing some information that perhaps they didn’t have. You don’t have to be a righteous butthole about it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Can I still bypass Microsoft account creation when reinstalling windows through the "reset this PC" option?
192·16 天前You have to boot without network access then do the terminal command.
What distro of Linux did you use that was so difficult? Something like Mint is very entry level and intuitive. You don’t have to run any terminal commands if you don’t want to, and the out of box configuration is good enough that you don’t have to modify anything for a stable, up to date system.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If I was in the market for a good used car, which car would be the best to outrun the cops?
2·18 天前I too owned a 1987 Caprice Classic. It was my first car but it was already probably 15 years old when I got it. Not sure if they offered it with different engine options, but it was indeed a tank. We called it the boat.
E: I just looked back, and I had a 1990 Caprice Classic, not the 87. Still, a tank.
Never done it, but I do put them on my deviled eggs. I wouldn’t personally mix it with the egg salad, but it would be a topping of the sandwich. I will for sure be doing this next egg salad batch I make though. I’m not sure why I’ve never tried it nor ever heard it. In the Midwest US.

science@lemmy.world•Scientists discover reversible male birth control that stops sperm productionEnglish
5·20 天前Midwest US, but it’s really down to the insurance policy. This particular procedure was 100% covered other than copay. Copay was usually $50, but for specialties it was $75. If you have insurance, definitely check your policy. A lot of times vasectomy is explicitly called out.

1·20 天前It cost me a $50 copay with insurance (US), maybe $75 because “specialist” I don’t remember. Without insurance idk the cost, but I’d guess under $500.

politics @lemmy.world•Trump drops Easter Sunday f-bomb in new threat to Iran
26·23 天前Good thing you didn’t generalize an entire population or anything and show your lack of understanding at how easy it is to just assassinate the POTUS. That would look like quite dumb, hateful, and short slighted opinion had you done so.
I was born and raised a Packers NFL fan. Everyone in my family were die hards. When my father passed, we asked people to wear Packers apparel if they had it. There were some local Vikings fans that bought Packers shirts for the occasion. One guy wore a vikings shirt underneath to stay true. That’s what sports rivalries should be all about. It’s just a game but it builds relationships through competition. We may cheer for different teams, but at the end of the day, we come together for what’s important. If someone boo’d the Packers at my dad’s funeral, I would have laughed as I think most of my family and friends would have too.

World News@lemmy.world•Australian leader warns people: "The months ahead may not be easy. Please consider using public transport"English
371·27 天前Everything you said is true, but I hope more people are seeing the US as the canary we are in the realm of right wing politics. The cancer is spreading and getting more control around the world. Everyone should look at how the US has fallen under the Trump regime and what not to do. That’s not to say that the US was doing great things outside of Trump, but this is certainly worse for the citizens of the US and the cascading effects are clearly having a negative effect on much of the rest of the world.
That’s definitely a choice you can make, but if I see AI at all, I immediately move on from the article or at the very least treat it as nothing of value. Other than the ethical implications of using AI, seeing it tells me the author couldn’t be bothered to care about their article, and so neither will I.
Just some outside perspective and feedback from just one person.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Stuck between living in America, China, or Japan... Which would you choose?
92·29 天前Whether the US is the right choice for you probably depends on your skin tone and where you’d be living. If you appear Asian and move to rural Texas, you’re probably gonna have a bad time. If you look Asian but move to somewhere like NYC where there’s more of a melting pot of citizens and currently liberal leadership, it will probably be a better experience.
There is a lot of bad stuff happening here, but it isn’t detrimental (currently) to everyone equally. I personally wouldn’t consider China due to the extreme censorship and heavy handed government, but the US is tracking that way. Japan has its own issues as you mentioned, but I’m not well versed enough to speak on them.
It’s definitely not a clear cut choice and you’ll probably have to eat some shit regardless of your choice. I think the potential is highest in the US for success compared to the other choices, but you could also walk into the wrong store and get arrested by ICE.

I went through the test for ADHD. In reality, I check all of the boxes and can related to this forum through and through. The therapist that assessed the results said no and attributed everything to THC and alcohol consumption. It completely discounts the first 30 years of my life, but okay. It cost me about $700 for that info and my official WAIS IQ.
I would love to seek a second opinion, but that’s so much money. I’m thinking of testing the black market but for now I just cope. I envy you and wish you the best.
