Chaotic Entropy

I played a thousand or two hours of Skyrim… never completed the main quest… but it was always there as an objective that I was maybe heading towards. Elder Scrolls have usually struck a good balance between “here is a big world to wander around” and “here are some key objectives and narratives to drive you forwards”.

Sure, that’s not to dismiss the valuable work and high effort you’re putting in to having these conversations that otherwise wouldn’t happen.

I can’t stand open worlds with no clear goals, the shine quickly wears off the world itself and I’m just left wondering what I would even want to do it. Mile wide, inch deep content deserts just switch me off immediately.

I play games to escape the purposelessness of life, not simulate it.

MOST users have the exact same concerns

Yeah… no, most users do not concern themselves with these things. Most users are focused on the tasks and not the tools, for better or worse.

You could argue that an increasing number of users do, but most is way too far.

Everyone was so in love with the idea of a new world order and an illuminati that Thiel and friends decided to become it.

Nothing should be a clearer indication that the death penalty should not exist than lunatics like him controlling it.

I don’t particularly agree with their conflict of interest comment on the quote, no. I guess it could be said that interviewing individuals that you have a personal relationship with could be a conflict around expectations of unbiased article writing, but this isn’t exactly the New York Times.

It’s almost like the younger generations don’t feel keen to join whatever misadventure their nation wants to go on during their service. Especially given the high likelihood that they’ll be involved in supporting/committing fairly unambiguous war crimes and genocide. They’ve also watched generation after generation of veterans get sold down the river… how could they resist.

I’ve just never been able to connect with people, by talking inanely about reality shows or football. Woe is me.
