
If he had dedicated any more time to the aid he brought, people would be calling him a self-important narcissist. Instead, he dedicated most of the video to giving Cubans a voice that they otherwise wouldn’t have.
I guarantee this aid convoy brought much more aid than Hasan showed in his video. He said that they were the last leg of it.
Hasan is not a perfect guy. There are valid criticisms of him. But he is actually doing a good thing here. I don’t understand why you are reflexively downplaying it and shifting the goal posts.








I’ve found that most people understand that signing up for an email service like Gmail allows them to communicate with people who aren’t on Gmail. Tie that in to explaining federation.

Obviously the technical details are different, but it helps explain federation at a very high level. Then you can talk about why that’s valuable for longevity of a system.
Example: the decline of Yahoo and AOL as email providers didn’t end email as a technology because email doesn’t depend on those companies existing to function.
