You folks are doing a great job. It is not possible to maintain a healthy environment without locking toxic people out. Those are always going to be tricky judgment calls, but someone has to make them. I appreciate the thought that you put into making those decisions, as well as the transparency in letting us know why.

However, if you have a problem, Amazon will almost always take care of it and AliExpress will tell you to go fuck yourself. After the third time I received the wrong item, the vendor lied about it, and AiExpress told me it was my problem, I quit buying from them.

I’m not an expert, but that sure does sound like a fake. As far as “fixing” it, I think the kindest repair would involve hitting it with a hammer until it was flat.

Seriously, if you’re willing to do immoral things for money you need to take a hard look at yourself and your views about what is moral and why. And are you willing to do things that will make anonymous strangers suffer? How about your friends? Research strongly suggests that a willingness to put the good of the community above our own needs is probably why humans as a species are still around. What kind of person do you want to see in the mirror every morning?

I have now been on anti-depressants for almost five decades. In that time, I’ve used just about everything out there, and transitioned from one to the next. Unfortunately, the honest answer is that how long they take to kick in varies widely based on the specific medication. I’m sure the patient’s condition can also change it by quite bit. My average has been around a month to get a useful effect, but my minimum is probably around a week and my maximum more like three months.

The top layers of all US departments have been replaced with people who have no qualifications except for their willingness to do anything Trump wants. It isn’t too surprising that most of them can’t actually do their jobs. And that’s before you get into how many of them are also totally corrupt.

The reality is simpler than this. There are very few people who are meet Trump’s standards for slavish loyalty. He has limited choices when looking for a new person to put in charge of something.

An awful lot of politicians want Trump gone, but none of them want to actually do anything about it. Congress has the power to impeach and remove him, but they all want the cabinet to invoke the 25th so they don’t have to take any responsibility. Any, of course, they know there’s no chance of this cabinet doing that anyway.

The rules we have created to govern corporations cause that, in a very direct way. If those positions were officially responsible for the welfare of their employees and customers, and not just their shareholders, the role would not favor sociopaths. We need to change the rules. Otherwise, getting rid of the current crop of awful people will just replace them with others like them.

That’s a fair point. The prosperity gospel came along well after Peale’s time, but he probably would have liked it. He was another sociopath in the same mold.

So far as I know, there is no reason to think that Trump believes in the prosperity gospel. He wants the people who do to follow him, but I would be surprised if he believes in anything at all (including religion, philosophy, physics, and other human beings).

This is simply one of the best knives on the market. It isn’t my primary carry, only because I like a somewhat larger blade, but it is what’s on me anytime I’m dressing up or traveling light. It is thin, light, strong, reliable, and effective. It even manages to have an excellent grip, despite being that thin. I am not a big fan of SOG, but they got everything right on this one.

As someone who hates the original, this made me very happy.

I have always admired John Carpenter for working in the opposite direction. He likes to show you a scene where you gradually realize that something is wrong. When you do, you get the same adrenaline jolt as from a jump scare. Or he will show you something terrifying that is going to happen, then make you wait while watching it arrive.

Why does anyone vote for this man to represent them? He never has and he never will. He just does whatever he’s told by whichever Republican leader scares him the most.
