This feels overly pessimistic, I met my current wife online and there’s zero chance we would’ve bumped into each other IRL. I know the apps have gone to shit in terms of monetization and gamification but there are still real people out there who use them.

Just checked my non-car options for the school run and looking at 5 hours per day to walk or 2.5 hours on public transport. Not gonna consider biking because I don’t want to die (used to cycle commute and had two bad accidents).

My first thought was maybe Japan has strong consuner protection/advertising laws. For a standard side shot they tilt the buns back and push ingredients to the front, which one could argue is misleading, but by showing the bun obviously askew they can show more filling while shielding themselves from litigation. Anything they do will be the result of regional focus groups and lawyers.

I wonder if the tethering is any good. Lightroom is pretty bad compared to Capture One and I’m not aware of many other alternatives.

It’s a bit like overdoing wasabi, I don’t really do it deliberately and don’t particularly enjoy it in the moment, but it makes me feel very alive!
