Starting in 2029 all cars will be required to have automatic breaking
As an FYI, they mention both of these in the article

103·1 year agoIt was a 5 year old asleep in the back row of an Uber XL. He probably had another customer to pickup.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What do office workers actually do?English
2·1 year agoDecided to go back to school to go something more meaningful, but that was what my first job basically was. I was hybrid, though. So I was working from home pretty often too, and I lived 10 minutes from the office so I would come in late and leave early on those in person days too. Sometimes I’d spend an hour writing a script and pretend it took me like 2 weeks.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I'm a 6'1" man with size 3 feet which means every time they measure my feet at a shoe store, the Brannock device tells me I'm not a man English
47·1 year agoI’m just confused by why you keep getting your feet measured. I haven’t done that since my feet stopped growing, I know my size by this point

cats@lemmy.world•What do your cats think of binaural beats?English
17·1 year agoThe point is that your brain does create an illusion. You play two different frequencies, one in each ear and your brain creates the third based on the difference. This doesn’t work without headphones.

Technology@lemmy.world•Things the guys who stole my phone have texted me to try to get me to unlock it - GothamistEnglish
17·2 years ago99.99% seems optimistic. You’re gonna have to buy a new phone regardless, if it’s stolen then it’s gone. You can either wait a few days and then buy a new one, or you can just buy it right away
Amount of broken links is crazy. I always try checking internet archive, but they often don’t have stuff like that.
For me, meal replacements such as Soylent (used to be Ensure before I became vegan) are a big part of my diet. I’ve always had an easier time with liquids than solids.
There’s an inverse relationship when it comes to income and veganism. Lower income people are more likely to be vegan than high income. Additionally, POC are significantly more likely to be vegan. The image that veganism is for rich white people is a myth.
I also have ARFID. But basic morality lead to me becoming vegetarian when I was 10.

Fitness@lemmy.world•Changing workout plan because of runningEnglish
5·3 years agoI’d agree with the other commenter, you’d be better off doing 2 full body days instead of hitting each muscle just once a week.
It’s also extremely important to make sure you’re going close to failure. Since you’re working out twice a week, it’s even more important to make sure you maximize your effective reps.

2·3 years ago(at which point spez will start trying to emulate youtube’s anti-ad stuff).
I’m curious. What’s Youtube’s anti-ad stuff? I don’t remember the last time I saw an ad on Youtube.
My 11 year old brother had been using PopOS for a while. Unfortunately Roblox recently intentionally broke Wine support and I had to put Windows on his computer.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What runs on your base domain?English
3·3 years agoIt’s basically just an extended resume. A place with links to my Github, LinkedIn, and projects I’ve done.
I’m not creative at all either, very bad at front end stuff. I used a Hugo theme for most of the website.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•What runs on your base domain?English
6·3 years agoKinda surprised how few mentions this has. I use it for my personal website which I made using Hugo. That’s what I used it for even before I was hosting any services.

I had a patient tell me he had to go to a zoo for an MRI. I thought it was a self deprecating joke but he was serious.
