Cars - For Car Enthusiasts@lemmy.world•It's time to play: Is it better than my 2015 Kia Soul?English
2·4 months agoAnecdotal: I have a 2016 fusion titanium (not hybrid, 2.0L ecoboost). Bought it at 300,000kms, now up to 348,000km.
Aside from regular maintenance (brakes, oil, etc), the only thing I’ve done is a shock mount.
Apparently both 2015s and 2017s have issues that the 2016s don’t, so maybe I’m getting lucky, but I’m extremely impressed with this car for the mileage.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada's Carney called out for 'utilizing' British spelling
6·4 months agoVery based of the Carney government IMO. The most ‘elbows up’ stance would be to intentionally reject former American influences and purposefully adopt more British spellings in standard Canadian English.
Our sovereignty and cultural identity isn’t under threat from the UK, it is under threat from the USA.
Bonus: we could use the phrase “speak the King’s English” more often - its one step away from monocles being back in fashion.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How come in most school in the USA (at least mine) they teach Spain Spanish instead of Mexico Spanish? Would not Mexico Spanish be an obvious choice to teach?
1·1 year agoI remember this, after I was told I was learning France French I was a bit confused. Why wouldn’t we be learning Quebecois?
To be fair, I was a bad student so I wasn’t actually learning either…

Spelling errors on professional documents, especially signs/posters/ads. You don’t have to know everything, but you have to check before putting it up.
