Yeah, there are reasons why robot arms in factories are in cages, because they will pretty much just kill you if you get in the way of the arms.

It isn’t AI, main way to know is the one guys green gloves stay on even when they are out of sight long periods of time. None of the current models can handle that.
These robots just have quite powerful motors that control arms/legs, so when it goes wrong, it can easily destroy itself with spectacular fashion.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What does DLSS do, and what's up with DLSS 5?
81·1 month agoDLSS is machine learning model trained by Nvidia to invent information to rendered game frames. In general there are two ways:
- You have two frames of game, model makes up third frame between those two frames, to make game run smoother. This has down side that input lag (you press button and it happens on screen) gets longer. But it increases your FPS (frames per second), which looks smoother.
- model makes up extra detail to the game frame. Previous versions have mainly being AI upscaling. Game renders in smaller resolution (less pixels), and then it is made larger, and model smooths and makes up details that originally wasn’t there.
Both of these have same downside, they can cause inconsistency between frames, and have flickering etc.
This is what DLSS 5 now takes to much more heavier “AI filter” level, because it is not anymore upscaling, but it now can add much more detail that originally wasn’t there. But because the model doesn’t have memory, it must always cause issue that the output will always be bit different. Curious to see how they have overcome that, or is it really so that with DLSS5 with every cutscene, the main character looks different.
Modern raspberry pi GPIO pins are compatible with floppy disk cable (similar to PATA). I can tell you how much I enjoyed telling about this to my wife, when I pulled one of them from my magical cable drawer, were I have stored one since the 90’s.
(Just make sure that there isn’t the one blocked pin, otherwise you might break things)
What will probably happen is that the unit tests will go closed source, which sucks because it makes verifying things harder for non maintainers.
With unit tests people can burn down a forest and use billion tokens to recreate same FOSS project that gives green on all unit tests, and if unit tests are enough to cover things, it will be “good enough” replica.
They will just do IPO and get trillion dollar valuation, and poof, they are profitable.
Ad-apalypse is coming, they will squeeze all the pennies from your data and prompts. Personalized ad response to prompt.
If you have no soul, get ready to buy malware ads to bad JS libraries suggested by AI, filled with crypto miners and crypto stealers

Technology@lemmy.world•New sodium ion battery stores twice the energy and desalinates seawaterEnglish
1·2 months agoThat is true, but my small EV the batteries are 500kg, same car with combustion engine only has 40L fuel tank.
Stability is important, but lithium-ion ain’t really that stable either. Still waiting some solid state to get made.

77·2 months agoTNT has 1162 Wh/kg ratio.
These new lithium-ion batteries get to 300-400Wh/kg range.
We are hitting the limit what is doable with energy density. Do you really want to carry 100g of TNT in your pocket or few tons of TNT in vehicle going 100km/h.
Of course things are not directly comparable, but ball parks.
Eventho he did dronestrikes etc. at least he had intelligence and charisma. I don’t fucking understand how anyone could watch trump and think that this guy has any brain cells. He is so bad speaker that it is insane how anyone goes to listen him.

Epstein was first arrested 2006 and convicted on 2008, anyone association with him after that KNEW him being a sex offender.
There is one challenge here, emails are really easily spoofable. They should release all the header information of these emails, so that they could be verified. FBI probably have them, but they won’t release those because they would show that Don is a pedo.
I see this so easily cheatable, how the hell can language model verify that you have done the task. It is basically a oxymoron. You just reply instantly that task has been done, and collect the money.
Yeah, and antimatter converts to pure energy with e=mc^2 what means that 60 grams contains like Hiroshima worth of energy

Sopii varsinkin suomalaiseen arvomaailmaan. Kiitos siitä kovasti!
Yeah, that beast can probably host one medium size corporate with Linux, and do some crypto mining on the side
