The article says the attacker was bald, and later evidence found him to be part of the “antideutsch scene”, “an outgrowth of the German far-left whose rejection of German nationalism has translated into explicit pro-Israel and pro-American views”.
I don’t think that makes him a Nazi. He could be, but the article doesn’t say that, or that he’s a skinhead,

ErgoMechKeyboards@lemmy.world•TAIKO-01 Ergonomic Split Keyboard [2026 April Update]English
1·10 days ago“e” is the most common letter in most Germanic languages like English, and also in some Romance languages like French and Spanish, so a layout with the Spacebar and “e” right under the thumbs could be great.
I’ve seen vertical keyboards where you don’t have to pronate your hands, e.g. the Dactyl TypeSafe. See also Effects of a vertical keyboard design on typing performance, user comfort and muscle tension (2007).

Know of any good layouts with an “e” under one of the thumb clusters?
I might have missed it on the site, but are there advantages to the mostly horizontal design, compared to more vertical ones? Is horizontal easier on thumbs, and to make it easier to see the caps?

Science@beehaw.org•Your Brain May Not Experience Free Will the Way You ThinkEnglish
33·13 days agoFree will can only exist if we had the supernatural ability to change the past. This idea is something lots of people really don’t like, so they come up with all sorts of ways to magic their way out of it like thinking the supernatural is real, rejecting the scientific method, and/or inconsistent ideas like compatibilism.
And Alma started at 8.3 because that was the version of RHEL it was based on, which started at 2.1 (but not because of RL, which was then at 6.1.92).
For me apps are things that are fullscreen-only (on phones, Windows 8 apps, GNOME 3+), while programs are small CLI things or complex ones with discoverable GUIs where you have more control over the UI and placement.
I don’t use tiling window systems - would they by the above definition make programs something in-between?

Politics@beehaw.org•Trump says US will blockade strait of Hormuz after Iran peace talks failEnglish
3·13 days ago“Many were bound for China and India, carrying Iranian oil products, and chasing them down could complicate relations between the US and the importing nations.”
Those are 2 countries I don’t think would react well to the USA blockading oil imports. They’re not Cuba.
I feel sorry for the people of Iran, Cuba, and China for living under dictatorships, but it’s getting difficult to feel sorry for the citizens of India and the USA considering the psycopaths they actually keep voting for.
“for users that just wants to have a system that works without the need to use terminal or being afraid of destroying system files”
Wouldn’t such users want a distro they can trust because people they trust have checked it to be safe? No Wikipedia article yet, no ratings or reviews on distrowatch. Why would a normal user trust a distro who’s 1st preview was announced less than a year ago? Shouldn’t the distro be targeting tinkers and super users, so they can give a thumbs up or down for the normal users?
I trust Debian even tho I don’t have that much confidence in people who think GNOME is a good default UI. I dislike Ubuntu for many reasons, but lots of people vastly smarter than me have looked at their code for more than 20 years now.
They’re probably more instinctual than animals that learned to avoid cars/trucks, so it would take very long for them to evolve instincts to run away from fast-vehicle noises.
I think Anthropogenic climate change will make them or vehicle drivers extinct, before that happens tho.

Isn’t the problem with this that there are different communities which might have valid reasons to post very similar things, and the order they’re displayed to you may result in you downvoting the original?

Anyone know why LibreWolf isn’t in Debian repos? I know there’s a Flatpak, but I don’t know if it can be trusted since mintinstall says it’s by an “Unknown maintainer”.
