Arch Linux@lemmy.ml•PacHub Finally Lets You Manage Pacman And The AUR On Arch Without Touching The Terminal
1·4 days agoWe already have KDE Discover, which im pretty sure works for the AUR as well. It could definitely do with some more work to improve pacman support, but I actually like it.

Technology@lemmy.world•Italian television channel does DLSS 5 haters a favor by broadcasting footage from reveal trailer, then copyright striking Nvidia's own YouTube channelEnglish
21·5 days agoAlso, I recently learnt that it forces the other channel to provide their personal details directly to the person that raises the claim (the person who raises the claim doesn’t need to provide their details). I watched a video the other week where some streamer started harassing another streamer, filed a copyright claim to get their personal details, and used that to find out where they go to University etc.
Its a learning curve for sure, I’m still learning it myself. Openrc seemed to be fairly popular, so thats why I started with that.
There is a few changes such as not using service files and instead using crob jobs, seeing the logs of your tasks need to be hooked into using syslog-ng to consolidate the logs. I’m still learning how you see stuff like the service status etc.
Its been fun learning something new again, and writing a script like this to set it all up for me has been a great way to learn it all.

4·12 days agoPeople can donate to all of these things if they wish - I dont see why GrapheneOS can’t also be given funds even just for the work that they’re doing currently.

Dull Men's Club@lemmy.world•The promotional keyring for Forza 3 I've had on my key chain for more than 16 years broke last night and I'm feeling some kinda way about.
3·14 days agoAt least you didn’t actually lose that other piece
I recall reading somewhere that the guy that invented it, regrets it and doesn’t even use then because of how bad they are for the environment.
Its called a cannula. I had the same for my tonsils, except the guy said “this is just fluids to keep you hydrated” then I woke up hours later in another room. Lol

KDE@lemmy.kde.social•A polite open letter to KDE developers and maintainers, which got blocked by a moderator.
2·17 days agoAll fair points. I’m sure there will be a lot of pressure from Corporate entities to push this in, and with how other platforms are just seemingly giving up - I really dont have a lot of confidence left.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Its definitely a complicated issue. In my opinion it seems many people dont really appreciate the broader implications I.e its not just about a singular birthday field, its about what comes next.

1·18 days agoI agree with you, wholeheartedly. However, Nate has a lot of influence and no doubt if he thinks it must be done then likely it will. Nothing against him personally of course.
I’ll still be pulling my donations, and if they do decide to not implement it then I’ll be more than happy to resume. At the end of the day I’m powerless to really affect change on their end, albeit trying to voice my opinion in the matter.

I’ll be pulling my monthly donations unfortunately.

Anyone got some more context for this please? (Apart from the obvious)
