  • It’s ironic though since this is indeed a self-reinforcing cycle as well. The easier it is to get guns for the public the more the police is being armed, and at the end of the day it’s the state who’d win this arms race. The kind of “moral collapse” (not sure if the term is correct) necessary to overthrow an oppressive government can’t be gained with bullets, those merely reinforce whatever state your society currently is in or moves towards. I totally understand that you feel e.g. enabled, stronger, more independent etc. when holding a firearm, especially backed by US gun culture. Unfortunately the main thing firearms and the idea of them being a solution to something creates is pointless violence, which the US suffers greatly from for… well, forever.

It’s the classic relativism bullshit fascists, conservatives and emotionally compromised people always concoct to justify not having to think about the consequences of their actions and allegiances.

Not to mention the utter insanity of implying a lack of content that’s repostable in 2026.

Meanwhile Fedora‘s (Red Hat) dominance is never even questioned.

Huh? Pretty sure it’s constantly questioned, especially by those who reject systemd. Sometimes that isn’t hate, but well-reasoned (but occasionally badly worded) rejection.

The hate some have for Ubuntu and Omarchy is ridiculous.

Wasn’t Omarchy made by a fash, TERF or some other kind of extremist? Harmony is great and all, but like with tolerance it can’t be absolute.

Ubuntu gets their well-deserved amount of criticism in my eyes since they still haven’t published the damn Snap server source code (afaik). A distro that had such great ideas in the past like including Amazon ads inside the desktop or silently symlinking apt commands to snap have to do a better job to regain community trust, instead they reject efforts like Flatpak or AppImage and build partial closed-source.

I like harmony too, but please don’t attempt to deligitimise well-reasoned criticism.

  • Funny how there’s only a Canadian flag next to the US Empire one (obviously due to their astronaut being present), completely ignoring the 2 Billion € European Service Module’s existence (ESM, build by ESA in Europe) which literally keeps the astronauts alive.

I guess it’s very easy to take from others, but acknowledging them is too hard. The whole 'MURICA-dicking around in the Artemis 2 stream was vomit-inducing. I can’t put in words how much I hate that regime and their minions by now.

That said, Cuba also has a sufficient amount of skeletons in the closet.
