I’ve found one that seems to suck less. It is at least sensibly designed, easy to clean, and hefty enough where I’m not going to break it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WHLDMNX
Its funny bluesky.com is not the bluesky website that most people are thinking of.

I used to manage a system that had a longer character limit on the creation than in the sign in. To fix it, they just let you type in more characters when you signed in but only validated the first 8 anyway. 🤦♂️
A lot of games and emulators use them for quick save and quick load functions.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Tech workers - what did your IT Security team do that made your life hell and had no practical benefit?
20·3 years agoAs a security guy - as soon as I can get federal auditors to agree, I’m getting rid of password expiration.
The main problem is they don’t audit with logic. It’s a script and a feeling. No password expiration FEELS less secure. Nevermind the literal years of data and research. Drives me nuts.

Right, so why would a new user NOT choose what is perceived as the core instance?

I feel like there is no such thing as low beams anymore. Low beams used to be less bright, now they’re just as fucking bright and aimed SLIGHTLY down. God forbid the road isn’t exactly flat or you have a slightly different height vehicle.
