Ticks can live in cold places, but the diseases they transmit don’t propagate if the ticks are inactive for long enough in the winter. Ticks themselves are harmless, only the diseases they transmit are a problem
That level of sport is also where you have sponsors which you don’t want to loose by being outside the norm.

memes@lemmy.world•I will be this old man for the rest of my life
2·3 个月前I had to start using macos for work and it also took me a few hours to solve the setup problems. But it wasn’t even to launch games or app. It was just to make simple things working, like my keyboard layout, multi monitors support, windows snapping or multiple desktops. In the end I ended up having to spend some money in addition to the time, so yeah, Linux is not that complicated. (And I’m not even comparing it to Windows)

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•ICE is 30 minutes late again. I'm really pissed about that.
2·3 个月前Indeed, the lack of spending on the rail infrastructure in the last few decades has probably more to do with politics (cough cough car lobby cough cough) than the Deutsche Bahn’s personal. I always like how the personal has a humorous and chill way of announcing the delays.
Common, that’s not fair! The other MS products also deserve to be mentioned here.

1·4 个月前I’m OK with it as long as it’s not an LLM recommendation
I’m of course guilty of not posting much! Wasn’t asking anything from people either though. I’m interested to know why someone would post/repost content without checking it first. I don’t think in the only one bothered by the “whet”.
Why not fix it before reposting then?

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Spain to launch €60 monthly nationwide public transport passEnglish
4·4 个月前You mean Interrail? It’s not a monthly pass, but you will probably find a pass that suits your trip.
But then following your logic, any employee working in a company doing something bad is a bastard.
Don’t blame the guys at the bottom of the ladder, blame the system.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you speak a language that has a formal 'you', when do you use it?
1·5 个月前I speak French and German on a daily basis and German speaking people tend to use the du (or sometimes Du) more often than French speaking people. For both languages though, people tend to go more often with the informal forms in the rural areas and more with the formal form in the cities. This is for Switzerland and people in Germany or France may have slightly different habits.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's a song in a language you don't speak that still gets you dancing and yelling along hyped?
1·6 个月前Seen the movie yet? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chorus_(2004_film) The original song will maybe not make you dance as much as the remix but it is still a nice movie.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If the EU forced Apple to allow side loading on iPhones, shouldn't the same rule apply to Android phones?
1·7 个月前But doesn’t f-droid build and sign with a repository key themselves (therefore prooving that the app comes from the source)? If this is the case only f-droid repos would need to validate a key with Google

7·7 个月前All APK from f-droid are signed. Just not with a key approved by Google.

I had this issue a few times. If you watch a video in another language than what you have set in your settings, YouTube will now auto AI translate with a voiceover. It sounds horrible and is very annoying. It’s YouTube fault though, and not the creators’.
