It would be just fine. You can look at SteamOS on the Deck for exactly that (and I would assume the upcoming Desktop version will be similar). Bazzite in handheld mode is similar.
Much of the extra overhead comes from the desktop shell and window manager, so anything that swaps out stuff like Plasma or Gnome for something lighter is already on better footing.

Not sure why you’re so tied to a (mostly) fanless build with the upgrade. In my experience, ITX cases need airflow, because most cases aren’t designed with fanless operation in mind (unlike your h5).
The NH-P1 does fine with 65W CPUs, but I think you will be disappointed with 105W+ options, especially if you have desires to push your parts a little. Additionally, it performs best with some active airflow, however slight.
I understand the want for quiet operation, so as someone who tried a 65W cooler on a 105W CPU, just get a better cooler. I’m running the Phantom Spirit 120 SE with Noctua fans on an undervolted 5700X3D, got a triple fan 3060ti TUF GPU (with fanstop), a 650W Cooler Master PSU (with fanstop), dual top exhaust Noctua fans, and I’m running custom fan curves with CoolerControl (I’m on Linux, too).
The whole thing sits about a foot from me, and I barely hear it with bare ears. With my non-ANC headphones, I don’t hear it at all, unless I’m stress testing it.
Personally, with how hardware prices are going, I wouldn’t trade the peace of mind of active cooling for the diminishing returns of passive silence, especially if I planned to actually push the parts at all. Keep those parts cool and working; don’t make them rely on their built-in thermal throttling!
Also tbh, if it does the same things as before, they could call it POOP, and I’d still use it. The name has no bearing on how it functions.

There’s a way to create aliases to the programs in the containers so that you can run them on the host as if they were installed. Look into the Boxy app (should be able to find it as a flatpak) for a GUI way to do it, but you might also look into nix to set up different dev environments. If it’s not already a ujust recipe, look into how you can layer it and how to load up different nix configs for your different environments.

Thankfully, my manager talked him down and pointed out that it still got several nontrivial things wrong and that taking humans out is dangerous when it comes time to push to production.
But it’s concerning to see that the higher ups don’t understand what it is and what its limitations are.

I think the Adamant Rail was my first cleared weapon, but find one that works the way you like and try different combos of boons; think about the effects that might synergize with how the weapon attacks (speedy hits + flat damage, big hits + damage over time, etc.).

You’re tilting at the wrong things. What NASA does is science. Science benefits humanity, and we always learn something by going to space, and we’ve been able to do experiments that would be otherwise impossible to do on Earth. In this capitalist hellscape, it unfortunately costs money to do science, so I can understand balking at the $93B + $4B price tag (spread over 7 years) but we currently spend trillions of dollars (over 7 years) just on the military and if ICE were to get their current budget over 7 years, it would also be over a trillion dollars.
We could absolutely feed and provide childcare for every child in this country for under $100B, but we don’t need to defund science to do it. The annual budget of ICE alone could take care of all of that and still have some leftover.
The problem isn’t spending $13B/yr on space science, it’s spending $85B or $175B on ICE and the military (just as two needlessly wasteful examples; there are more).
