Seems I hit a nerve. I don’t disagree with what you’ve put. The biggest issue here is the fact they say purchase rather than rent. I’d much rather I purchase a movie and own it but that’s not the business model they offer. In reality, if the continue with their current model they should rename it.

How does that work though if you rent a car? You don’t own it, but still stealing if you “steal” it.

Yup, agree with this. I personally use Nextcloud but there are lighter solutions just for file hosting/syncing.

It would be nice if you could swipe from either side of the screen and the animation match, rather than just to the left. Great addition either way.

Agree with the error messages. Especially whilst lemmy.world is having issues, I’m seeing them a lot. Maybe having a little small popup you can dismiss, similar to how Sync did it?

Is it intentional you can’t down vote by swipe?
