I am disappointed this isn’t used on any Wiki article.
Oxen is historically a 100% English plural, just like child-children, it wasn’t loaned. (I should check, but I’m pretty sure it’s the same -en as in German plurals: das Auge, die Augen.)
Some of these Latin plurals can survive for technical terminology. But it’s pretty much only Latin ones, due to the historical prestige. Nobody talks of Soviet apparatchiki, it’s apparatchiks.

And I love you
“Laughable”, “disingenuous”, “you’re wilfully lying”, wow easy with those arguments there. I made the comparison based on your own logic.
Try walking into Gaza like that.
Try walking into an Uyghur reeducation camp, lmao.
If I were a zionist, I’d definitely use this sort of argument when talking about Palestinians. Lol you can go to West Bank and talk to them, therefore there’s no genocide.

Europe@feddit.org•If your country's government enforces an automatic draft register, what would be people's reaction?English
1·11 days agothere are European countries where the draft is normal and expected for men over 18 ([…] Croatia)
It’s not normal nor expected. The draft in Croatia was abolished two decades ago (and even before that it was practically nonexistent for years, since 90% of the draftees opted for civil service). It’s been reinstated literally a few months ago, the very first batch of draftees is, I suppose, currently in training.
EU identity cards,
That doesn’t exist.
driver’s licenses or passports verifying if they’re over 18
Neither of these are mandatory or relevant for establishing someone’s age.
you can be called up at any time when the circumstances deem it necessary
But that’s not what a draft is? A mandatory military draft is required for men aged from 18 to 20-something. When called, they either have the option to do civil service, or they go to the military training. Afterwards those in the latter group go on with their lives but can be called up if soldiers are needed.
Basically I don’t understand what’s the actual problem here. 🤷♂️

But you can learn French. There are grammars and dictionaries explaining how it functions. It’s not beyond anyone’s comprehension, assuming some patient work.
Educating and explaining will help LGBT more than treating it as a sacred mystery. People used to act bewildered when faced with the concept of homosexuality. Today nobody dares to take such a stupid position, because it’s too obvious that homosexuality is nothing magical or particularly illogical. I hope trans and all the other gender/sex-based identities will go down the same route.
