  • That’s actually not their fault. They were using mastodon, which interacts somewhat awkwardly with Lemmy. Mastodon, as you might know, is a federated micro-blogging platform. It uses ActivityPub (mostly) to federate, as does Lemmy. Anyway, when someone using mastodon replies to a lemmy/kbin/piefed user, you’ll see that @user prepended.

    It’s actually pretty cool how these varying networks interact, even if it’s a bit strange sometimes. Lemmy, mastodon, pixelfed, peertube… uh, the rest!
