Slop generators cannot truly replace very many jobs. They can however give your boss an excuse to fire you and enshittify their own company. And most bosses will take that trade if offered. When people say AI is stealing their job, they mean it gave their boss an excuse to fire them. Not that they’ve truly been made redundant.

One that felt most silly to me was “does your world have spinoff adventures and one-shots or is it one big story”, because this question assumes

A) I have “my” world

B) I always use that world

C) That there is a “main” story

D) Any deviation from that “main” story is a “spinoff”

E) That one-shot adventures have anything to do with any of the above points

There’s definitely a version of that question I could answer, but it would be more like one of these (and I’m honestly not sure which the question means):

• “Does your group play one continuous campaign or a variety of episodic scenarios?”

• “Do you always use the same homebrew setting when you run campaigns?”

• “Does your game have a single primary story, or are players free to pursue their own objectives and deviations?”

Liminal Horror has an excellent mechanic for this in their “Fallout” system. They also are pretty clearly inspired by the Resident Evil Series

I’ve run a dozen sessions of Mothership and never used any kind of minis or tokens to track movement.

I do highly recommend the official mobile app though as it has a character sheet tracker and dice roller and can join people together in a game session.

My neighbour growing up was a cop. He and his wife were Christian fundies who had like 8 kids.

Also sometimes we came up with a name for a place based on imperfect information and the name caught on and stuck before we learned there was a better name we could be using.

I work with French people who call me Jos instead of Joe. My girlfriend calls me 周 (Zhou) when we text each other. I’m fine with all of them as they all map to the same conceptual name.

My name isn’t how it’s spelled, it’s the concept of “Joe”. As long as they are calling me the thing that maps to that name, I’m happy. Their brain has its own mapping between language and concepts which is distinct from mine.

We should really discuss if the government is doing enough to keep an eye on them for their safety.

The thing is, if I take a day off, the work doesn’t stop. So Tuesday will just be catching up on all the stuff missed on Monday. The only exception is national holidays where literally nobody is working. Honestly I feel it discouraging me from ever taking vacation.

This user has a very recognizable style of speech, often brings up the same topics, and shares enough of their personal details that over time I’ve gotten a sense for it. Also, most of his accounts are created within a few minutes of the last one being banned.

Here is a full list of OP’s past accounts. He creates new ones after getting banned for being toxic. His new strategy is deleting posts from his account to hide his tracks. If you scrub through his comment history, you can see the remnants of this behaviour, since Lemmy preserves the titles of posts where someone commented and the fact that they were the OP.

I could see some kind of arrangement where the age would be something reasonable like 16-18, but then there is a test you can write (basic civics questions eg. who are the candidates, what does the legislative branch do, etc.) and if you pass that test, kind of like a learner’s permit for driving, you can vote even if you’re under that age, down to a hard cutoff of like 13.

Yeah you just delete the posts so it’s harder for the mods to spot that you’re a ban evader on his 15th account.
