Android finally started to have a pretty unified look with everything being Material3 and people understanding how to follow the guidelines but we’re going to have another “gradually redesign everything” so it’s a mess for couple of years.

There’s an interesting project called DwarFS. I have it on my todolist to check it out but as I understand it you basically create a compressed read-only archive that is mountable and readable just like any other disk - https://github.com/mhx/dwarfs . Maybe this is something for your use case?

The game itself is not “trans” but it correlates with the dominant age group of people who grew up with it and later on had changed their gender. And because it’s more niche than a typical AAA game which covers a bigger fanbase then some anon made that connection and others started picking this up. I believe that some manufacturers impose a “whitelist” sort of thing for apps running in a background. I know a case of a Motorola and an ASUS phone that basically alllowed only the popular apps like Whatsapp and Facebook to run in background and Signal was terminated almost instantly when put into back. Samsung for example has a tool to detect if the app is “noisy” and if it shows too many notifications then the system will stop showing them for a while. They probably have an allowlist themselves because I haven’t heard about this issue on Messenger or Instagram. How it works internally is impossible to say since we cannot see the code.

I was working as an Android developer couple of years ago and we had to fix many issues with push notifications and these were the team’s findings. It may be no longer the case and I believe it’s time Signal started showing up on these allowlists but who knows

I have learned to embrace it. My hobbies and motivation come in waves. When I am excited about something I do as much as I can and stop feeling guilty about not persuing other hobbies at the moment - I know their time will come.

Rust is a coding language that requires its own toolkit when building binaries with it (just as gcc is required for everything written in C). Rust of course won’t magically fix every issue and changing the tooling won’t be user-facing but this is for developers to make their job easier. If they will be able to fix stuff faster then it’s a win for users as well.

This is not an ADHD sympton itself but it’s often a mechanism developed by ADHD people as a way of distracting themselves and getting a dopamine hit. Lack of dopamine is a symptom and everyone fights with it a little differently.
