the plan isn’t a secret recipe i’m hiding from you. it’s happening right now, whether you notice it or not.
mutual aid networks. rent strikes. union organizing. boycott campaigns. community defense. abolitionist projects that starve the carceral state. international solidarity that makes imperialist violence costly.
you want a ten-point plan handed to a president? that’s not how this works. leftists don’t wait for permission from power – we build counter-power. we make the old world unmanageable and the new world unavoidable, piece by piece.
the question isn’t “how?” as if it’s some untested theory. the question is whether you’ll get off the sidelines and help.
you’re offering a false choice: work with sociopaths or kill them; that’s surrender.
don’t beg killers to be nicer – make their cruelty politically impossible.
you say “we have to live with each other.” fine. but living together doesn’t mean accepting drone strikes on kids because 4% of people are sociopaths. that’s not pragmatism. that’s cowardice with a philosophy degree.
the goal isn’t to pick the lesser evil. it’s to build a world where bombing children isn’t a debate – it’s unthinkable. that’s not moral purity. that’s the whole damn point.
it’s not about what you or i want; it’s about having basic human decency and standing up against red lines like genocide; ethnic cleansing; and especially bombing innocent people from orbit or separating children from their parents to trying them individually in obama’s case.
pretending that these are little more than wish list item minimizes these nazi level atrocities and reflects your character as a human being.
translates to wherever a √2 party system exists.
that’s effectively true everywhere and everywhere pretends that the other parties are viable for appearances sake
it’s more than a thought; it’s familiarity in ways you’ve likely forgotten about if you were using the internet as an adult back in 1995 and is now the only way to escape the oligarchy manufactured narratives and capture like op describes.
back then, you can only find things using either word-of-mouth or independent search engines. the instances of the fediverse that have been isolated by the mainstream narrative loving masses (ie hexbear, lemmygrad, etc.) now serve the same word-of-mouth function and things like searxng are fulfilling the independent search engines that altavista, excite, lycos, etc. used to do.

Good News@lemmy.ml•Almost Half of US Data Centers That Were Supposed to Open This Year Slated to Be Canceled or Delayed
2·23 days agoi wonder how much of it is just delay because the realities of the crumbling & antiquated american power grid is in capable of supporting these data centers.
in some ways, it carries on in the spirit of what the internet used to be like in 1995, but by accident/need rather than intention.
back then, the internet was an even mixture of profit seeking companies trying to get your attention and sites that required minimal technical proficiency contained interests/works that the mainstream media pretended didn’t exist. over time, things like reddit appeared where it combined the two to get the mainstream hoards so overwhelming in number that the internet has become almost indiscernible to mainstream media.
now, as the mainstream internet enshittifies to protect the mainstream narrative; the people who seek reality over narratives now have to up their technical acumen to continue their access.
the internet is going back to their wild west days because the oligarchy is trying to exert control over it with liberal & conservative consent.

Who stands to benefit from suppression of the Earth being flat, and how do they benefit?
extend that to truly controversial and equally true topics of today; like north korea; and most will come to understand that they too have bought into conspiracy theories themselves.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is Lemmy an effective alternative to Reddit?
1·2 years agolike petty tyrant mods
i think that’s one of the big reasons why federation is a thing; a petty mod in one community in an instance has no say in the same community in another instance.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is Lemmy an effective alternative to Reddit?
1·2 years agotldr: they prove in real time that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter
longer: the biggest three reasons to me are:
-
they look the other way when their users are clearly using automated means to down vote & brigade leftist viewpoints.
-
they block entire instances with viewpoints they disagree with through defederation like a nanny state instead of letting you make the decision for yourself as a adult.
-
they ignore comments personally attacking leftists users even though it’s against their own instance’s rules, but are hyper vigilant on known leftist commenters.

1·2 years agoi think there’s plenty diversity outside of .world
the sectional my parents purchased when i was a toddler featured prominently in my living for years after i graduated college.
it costed as much as a new car and clearly worth it.
it somehow got more comfy with age.

memes@hexbear.net•It's been way too long since I've seen a Dorner post hereEnglish
12·3 years agodorner’s actions were triggered after the police force retaliated legally after he reported crooked cop behavior; there will never be a accurate movie.

spreading fascist propaganda like you’ve done here in this exchange will not help it grow.
you should atleast be getting paid for it.
