Playing video games without the need to sign in, use server, update for a goddamn hour when I only have 45 min to play, and games made for fun rather than cookie cutter eye candy.

I had to go and buy a bunch of CDs to install World of Warcraft because otherwise it would have taken about 6 years on my dial-up internet connection. Then my father would probably have called, broken the download, and I’d have had to have started all over again.

I think it’s more that the crimes that are committed are just more widely reported.

I don’t even live in the US but every time someone in Florida throws a bagel at an alligator it gets reported internationally.

My parents never used to know where I was and had no way of contacting me. At the time I liked that though I I’m glad smartphones exist now so I can keep track of my kids. If they start doing what I did when I was a kid it would worry me.

We also used to jump off a bridge into the local river, but 2 years ago a kid drowned doing that so now I’m worried about it.

So now notepad is the worst of both worlds. It doesn’t do rich text formatting but it does support some random markdown features. But only some, not all. So it’s useless as a markdown editor.

Oh and it has tabs now and saves on exit, which fortunately you can turn off.

He’s started a war that has caused massive supply chain issues, he’s introduced insane tariffs that have ramped up prices for component parts and called supply chain issues, he’s introduced hostile domestic policies that have reduced international tourism in the United States, he’s threatened companies that try claim their tariff money back except CEOs will have to claim the money back or they’ll get sued by their shareholders thus putting the CEOs in an impossible position, ICE keep raiding factories and warehouses arresting foreign nationals even though they’re the only people who will work in those facilities causing workforce shortages, ditto for farms, and he’s causing international incidents which are resulting in less global trade and a lack of demand for American produced goods.

Everyone’s losing money because of this including the rich and powerful so they may decide that they want to replace him with someone who’s capable of thinking through the consequences of their actions. Or at least someone who is more easily controlled.

Personally I believe it’s fake because he’s alive. When have the police ever not taken the opportunity to shoot someone?

As per usual it’s a stupid analogy. It assumes that only bad things can happen and the best you can hope for is a not poisoned skittle, it totally precludes the possibility of a beneficial skittle.
