12·1 year agoI find it hard to believe that Google phones wouldn’t have a hardware±SIM backdoor no matter what ROM is installed.
This technology already was in place on Intel ME desktops using a operating system on a chip called MINIX
That and phones far exceed surveillance perfection and device count vs PC.
Anything not RISCV and with a binary blob is a vector.

14·1 year agoMy Dream would be that they split Mozilla into Foundations for each product and collaborate like Firefox Foundation which has nothing to do with advertising division at HQ

Open Source@lemmy.ml•(Sorry if this is a duplicate) Does anybody know why krita still doesn't have wayland? AFAIK it uses and QT and should be possible
6·1 year agoIt requires a Qt Toolkit for UI upgrade and developers prefer to not constantly be spending labor on chasing the current version of every dependency when they could be doing more artsy things.
AFAIK Krita 6.0 plans on bringing Wayland support & the upgrade.
