Technology@lemmy.world•DeepSeek ditches Nvidia for Huawei chips in V4 launchEnglish
1·10 hours agoI have a hard time thinking it’s not deliberate. They’re trying to protect US car companies by putting tariffs on Chinese car imports, but what that’s doing is leading to complacency and a lack of competition. Ultimately harming the US and setting us back while allowing the wealthy shareholders to hoard wealth while not needing to worry about staying competitive.

Just Post@lemmy.world•The idea of sending humans to other planets is ridiculous until we solve core problems here on Earth first
21·14 hours agoIt’s people satisfied with the status quo. I don’t eat beef, I own an electric car, I don’t have kids. I know I’m not the problem.

1·14 hours agoWe are trying, look at the growth of renewables and electric vehicles. The idea that we can’t also learn more about leveraging the ocean to help sequester more carbon dioxide. Read about how the Saharan desert blows iron dust across the Atlantic every year. We can do both.

2·2 days agoTropaeolum growing hydroponically deep water culture. LEDs provide side lighting rather than above so they don’t grow inward and over shadow each other. More vertical space down the sides for them to naturally hang down. These have been growing rapidly now that they are properly rooted and I have the nutrients and acidity balanced.

13·2 days agoI assume the NHTSA will pay for it? Good luck, fuckers.
One of the biggest disrespects someone can give to someone else is to ask for advice and then completely disregard it and fuck up anyway.

Technology@lemmy.world•Anthropic has surged to a trillion-dollar valuation on secondary markets, overtaking OpenAI.English
2·2 days agoYea it’s exactly like the dotcom bubble. People thought domain names were worth millions, when realistically people just came up with other domain names or used different TLDs like .net or .org.

51·3 days agoI love using Claude and not paying any money for it. I know I’m the product, but it just confirms that we’re in a massive bubble and these valuations are ridiculous. Not real money. “Trillion-dollar” is meaningless if it never touches the real economy.

As of now, continue writing my book. An idea I’ve found is actually worthwhile and different than anything else done before. Indoor gardening, maintaining my microgreens and hydroponics setup. Those are my two focuses right now outside of work.
