I’ll never forget this video of a crab being sucked into a pipe being cut or this one of a diver in a similar situation.

Emphasis mine.
God knows I didn’t vote for some One Nation bigot to speak for me. It’s a party using MAGA style politics in Australia and frankly they can fuck right off.

I remember being annoyed by a noticeable increase in the diameter of the cabin pillars of new cars that happened in the mid-late 00’s until I found out it’s because before then rollover protection was akin to prayer and new standards were the culprit for the change. Never complained about the reduced visibility since.
A young lady I worked with for a while was in a wreck years ago, before I met her, that resulted in a rollover in an older vehicle. It absolutely flattened the top of the cabin and pinned her inside with a badly shattered femur. From memory she said it was 4 hours before someone found her. Frankly; fuck that. Give me a new car with a bunch of safety considerations, thanks.

Technology@beehaw.org•The blue light from your phone isn't ruining your sleepEnglish

I suffer from headaches from overstimulation and warm screen tones help with that. A friend of mine who works in IT once had an eye infection, when he went back to work he was still struggling but when I told him about f.lux (back before it was a feature built into OS’s) it helped him a lot.
I’ve never been sold on ‘blue light’ being a problem but there’s definitely something that makes warm tones just a bit nicer on the eyes.
I bet it makes a noise like a Skeksi saying hmm.

I’m definitely going to hell for that one.
Something missing from this discussion (that I’ve read) is the size of Lemmy. On a much larger platform you can have 6 different flavours of meme communities or tech communities where there are rules banning political news etc but there’s simply not enough people here to split communities.
It also means that smaller communities, like video game specific communities, have all but died off as the couple of people that started them have lost interest or left Lemmy.
While I get some of the arguments I’ve seen against trying to grow Lemmy these small communities are doomed without a dedicated passionate following and places based around niche topics are never going to survive in such a small space.
With all that said; politics are universal and touch on pretty much every aspect of our lives so political topics come up in every community, even small ones and especially one as politically charged as Lemmy.
That’s so insane.
And by ‘em I mean me. Holding time now, folding time later.
Imagine a Portal prequel following Ratman’s survival.
Sounds like something ai would say >.> /s

Na that can’t be true. Liberal politicians told us we’d completely run dry in 30 days because we only have 30 days of fuel. More cant be added to the local supply, can it? Surely their dog whistles to panic buy weren’t intended to make the situation worse? /S
P.s. Does anyone want to buy fuel? Bulk discount on 200L or more! (Also /S obviously but you never know here.)
