I played with a knockoff one time at a computer show and sale (hah, remember those?!). I didn’t feel like I’d use it enough, so I didn’t buy it. Now I’m kind of curious. I wonder if I can pick up one cheap to play with. Might be the kind of thing I find uses for after buying it (I’m a photographer so it might be helpful while editing).

Every time someone mentioned any brand name on reddit, some idiot screeched “r/hailcorporate”, like it was some kind of gotcha. I wonder if the guy here on Lemmy that was removing artists’ signatures from comics was one of them.

Someone would ask for advice, you’d say, I had a good experience with this item, and the “r/hailcorprate” shills would show up.

I’ve been burned by that, too. My wife and I went to visit an historic house, and they clarified that they are actually only open in the summer - they only happened to be there because someone was looking at using it for a wedding.
