“last year, OpenAI shut down 4o but brought the model back (for a fee) after widespread outrage from users.” “She cancelled her $20 monthly GPT-4o subscription, and coughed up $130 for Anthropic’s maximum plan.” They did, I guess it just wasn’t enough for them to justify continuing.

Can’t say I have a hugely encyclopedic knowledge but: what if I told you there was a sketch show with Olivia Colman, Martin Freeman, David Mitchell, Robert Webb, and Matt Holness (et al)? With the writing staff including Richard Ayoade and Ricky Gervais?
That show exists, and it’s called Bruiser. It got 6 episodes in 2000. As with any sketch show, they’re not all home runs, but there are some truly great sketches in there.

I’d just add that I think part of their popularity comes from their “safe” image. You put on an Imagine Dragons song, you know you’re getting a pretty apolitical “pop-rock” song, not like those dumb hippies from the 70s or those indie-rock losers. Which I think sucks, to be clear.

They’re musically enjoyable but I do feel like we, as a society, need to truly reckon with how bad Oasis’s lyrics are. My general thought is that they wrote the music first and then said “well let’s not worry about having coherent lyrics, let’s just have me singing words that sound good at the right time in the song”.

They are discontinuing the service :(

Yeah, there is a lot to like in it, I probably wasn’t as kind in my original message as I should’ve been. I do love that they went more episodic with it, that’s for sure! And they have had a few episodes that were pretty lighthearted and funny, which is greatly appreciated. It straddles the line of A/B tier for me.

I love Star Trek dearly, I just don’t think we’re ever going to get a show that hits like TNG/VOY/DS9 (and even ENT/TOS) again - largely due to capitalism and the dramatic shortening of TV seasons. SNW is watchable and has some good bits in it, but it is forced to operate at a mile-a-minute pace, and either forced or poorly chosen by the showrunners to be Action Action Action about 90% of the time. I just need some breathing room!
That being said, Lower Decks and Prodigy both hit on a lot of what I love about Trek. Their cancellations (and the new ownership of Paramount, and Section 31, and SNW only getting 6 episodes for their last season) do not bring me any hope for the future.

Oh yeah, Mitra did a show at a comedy venue I love dearly and sat close to me for the second half of the opener’s (tremendous) set. Hearing her laugh from like 4ft away made the experience that much richer!

I really appreciate Three Busy Debras. Might just be that it matches my humor style perfectly but my gosh does it make me laugh.

Truly cruel that we didn’t get a full series of this!!!
Very nice, glad to see it! I suppose actually doing dev work is more important than updating the website 😅
They specifically say on their FAQs page that they’re not going to work with OVOS, sadly.
The fact that they mention Mycroft AI (which stopped being properly developed over 2 years ago) on their homepage is a little worrying 😬 They do mention the situation in their FAQs, though.

Oof, that hurts my heart. Virtual hug for you 🫂

Zero times and we’re now very happily married. My other successful relationships were also 0 timers (except for the ends, of course 😅). I had one relationship with a lot of break ups and reconciliations and it was truly terrible, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If it happened to a friend more than once, I’d be telling them to leave that person for good ASAP

Hell yeah. Love them.

Same thing here in Pittsburgh. If the funding cuts and subsequent route cuts happen, I’d go from walking about 200ft to a bus stop to over a mile.

I don’t have any actual research, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pixel itself doesn’t really make money at all. One of those “get people hardcore into the Google ecosystem to get their money/data” things.
That is the correct one, yep! You can also get it from F-Droid!
