Article from January. The list is longer now.
The widespread gently-spoken implicit celebration of genocide (and further depraved violence against civilians of the region) is sickening.
But don’t be upset, you’ll make someone feel unsafe. /s

2·2 months agoThe trouble in Australia with the Fairphone models is that some/all networks are blocking them due to a perceived/actual risk they may not work reliably on Australian networks, and Fairphone has not done what the networks demand for that approval. (There’s a heightened risk-aversion here at the moment due to a few highly-publicised emergency-call routing/connection/fallback failures).
It’s a work in progress though, and it should work already/eventually:

Their primary purpose is bombing schools, hospitals, and refugee camps – none of which move or pose a threat.

2·3 months agoOh, and that’s just a teaser! The full thing is a 90 page book. Looks like it might be available online for residents’ state libraries (australia), and hardcopy, and maybe elsewhere:

71·3 months agoAccording to worldbank.org:
- In 2022 the crude death rate across Gaza and West Bank was 3.0/1000pop/year.
- In 2023 it was 7.0/1000pop/year.
I expect Gaza specific stats are worse. Maybe someone else has further info they can cite, perhaps also relating to 2024-2025, but like others have said, such data is difficult to collect when Israel repeatedly bombs hospitals and their personnel.
The structural impossibility is upsetting.

LoL @ the downvotes. Step one is acknowledging one’s addiction.
I reckon posts linking to your self-hosted videos would work if they had an embedded video – if your instance set the
<meta property="og:video ..."\>tags appropriately. Also possible to make posts on your own instance which automatically federate to lemmy communities, as in this example which originates from a mastodon instance: https://lemmy.ml/post/41288461
https://joinpeertube.org/instances
Peertube is federated and self-hostable.
Even better, posts linking to peertube videos get an embedded video in the post:
