Ich finde es wird noch besser, wenn man sich klar macht, dass 20% deutscher Agrarflächen ohnehin bereits exklusiv für die energetische Verwertung verwendet werden. Das sind 2,34 Millionen Hektar. 2/3 für Biogas, 1/3 für Biokraftstoffe.

Mais liefert bei beträchtlichem Arbeitsaufwand und unbestreitbaren Schäden für Böden, Grundwasser und Biodiversität durch Monokultur, Dünger- und Pestizideintrag im Endeffekt 15-22 MWh(el)/Ha*a. Das ist ungefähr 2% der Ausbeute von Freifeld-PV-Anlagen (700-1.200 MWh/Ha*a), die wohlgemerkt auf wilden Wiesen stehen können, mit weniger bis keinen Schäden für Böden, Grundwasser und Biodiversität.

Mal bewusst völlig überspitzt ausgedrückt: von den 1.570.000 Hektar, die aktuell für Biogas verwendet werden (das ist übrigens die Fläche von Schleswig-Holstein), könnte man 70.000 Hektar in PV-Anlagen umwandeln und 1.500.000 Hektar renaturieren, ohne dass irgendwo ein einziges Maiskorn als Nahrungs- oder Futtermittel fehlen würde, und man erntet damit mehr als die doppelte menge an elektrischer Energie, Speichermöglichkeit vor Ort oder im Netz vorausgesetzt.

Agrarfläche wurde bereits lange vor Freiflächen-PV-Anlagen maßlos verschwendet. Deswegen ist sie vermeintlich knapp. Mit PV-Anlagen könnte man das Problem entschärfen, wenn man wollte.
