Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 16, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how RackRat (“RackRat,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by VERIDORN LLC, collects, uses, and safeguards the information we receive through rackrat.net (the “Site”). By using the Site you consent to this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
Information We Collect
We keep collection intentionally minimal. We do not require user accounts.
- Server & Network Logs: We utilize standard server-side logging and edge network logging. This includes your IP address, user-agent, request path, and timestamps. We retain these logs strictly for security, abuse prevention (e.g., anti-scraping), and performance troubleshooting. IP addresses may be considered personal data under certain privacy laws.
- Local Preferences: Settings and preferences are stored locally on your device via Browser Local Storage. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers.
- Voluntary Submissions: Information you explicitly send via email, such as feedback, bug reports, or contact information.
- Marketplace Data: We ingest and structure data from publicly available marketplace listings. This is public data and does not constitute personal user information.
We do not use third-party analytics tags, ad networks, or social media pixels. We do not use browser fingerprinting.
How We Use Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and related services.
- Secure our infrastructure against botnets, DDoS attacks, and scraping abuse.
- Respond to questions, support requests, or legal inquiries.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Where required by applicable law, our processing of limited personal data (such as IP addresses) is based on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share data with:
- Infrastructure Providers: Third-party hosting and network security providers that may process IP addresses solely to deliver and secure the Site.
- Marketplace Partners: Only when required to respond to fraud investigations or affiliate program compliance inquiries initiated by the marketplace.
- Law Enforcement: If we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect our rights, or prevent harm.
Local Storage (No Cookies)
RackRat does not use cookies. We rely exclusively on
browser localStorage to persist your UI preferences (such
as filters or view settings) between visits. This data stays on your
device.
Note: If you leave our Site via an affiliate link (e.g., to eBay), that third-party site may set cookies on your device according to their own privacy policies. We have no control over third-party cookies.
Data Retention
We retain server logs for a limited period (typically no longer than 30-90 days) for security auditing and performance monitoring. Aggregated and anonymized traffic data (which cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual) may be retained indefinitely for reporting purposes.
Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Affiliate Disclosure
RackRat participates in affiliate programs, including the eBay Partner Network. When you click a marketplace link, the outbound URL may include an affiliate tracking parameter. This allows the marketplace to attribute the referral to us. This process does not share your personal identity with us, and it does not increase the price you pay for items.
Security
We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect our infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Requests may be submitted to the email address below. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe, typically within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of the page indicates when it was last revised. Your continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
