LinnStrument Speedbumpy Surface
LinnStrument is our favorite polyphonic expressive controller. It allows for pitch, loudness, and timbre control with each finger, in a layout that is familiar to string players. However, we find that visual focus is needed to keep our fingers in the right spot, making it hard to play without looking or to play with two hands.
Our LinnStrument Speedbumpy Surface helps your fingers feel their position on each note, making it easier to play with closed eyes or play multiple notes at once:
Each row is shaped like a long speedbump. This helps fingers stay on track during pitch slides by riding along the crest of the bump.
Grooves are centered over the top of each note instead of on the boundary, that way each finger can feel the correct position to play in tune
Removed the root note dots for players using alternate tunings
We were surprised to find that the speedbump shape also helps with Y expression and double stops.
The Speedbumpy LinnStrument Surface is made by the same vendor as the factory surface, with the same material, pigment, curing, and low friction urethane coating introduced in mid 2020. We also added a black color for a darker look. The black paint is applied under the urethane coating for durability

One BLACK aftermarket silicone surface for LinnStrument 128. LinnStrument not included.
This surface makes it easier to play LinnStrument by feel instead of by sight. Each row is shaped like a long speedbump, which has three benefits:
Guides fingers to stay on target during long pitch slides
Provides confident tactile feedback when shifting a finger up/down between rows or hitting a double stop
Allows more intentional Y expression by feeling for the front, back, or crest of the bump
The grooves are centered over the top of the notes, instead of on the boundaries. The way the finger can feel when it's on target.
The root note bumps or dots have been removed to make alternate tunings easier.
This surface is great for playing LinnStrument with eyes closed or playing with two hands.

Black Surface Back Side Cosmetic Issue (Oct 22, 2025): the remaining 8 black surfaces have unintended paint application on the back side. After installation this is not visible to the user, and it has no functional impact. Some examples are shown here. We apologize for the suboptimal appearance. The price has been reduced %10 for the remaining stock. Thank you.
One WHITE aftermarket silicone surface for LinnStrument 128. LinnStrument not included. Our samples on hand are more transparent than expected, but we are working with the vendor to match the pigment and color of the factory LinnStrument surface.
