WBPSC WBCS Apply online 2025
The candidates must complete the WBPSC WBCS Application online on the official website for the WBPSC Recruitment. Any other mode of application will not be accepted under any circumstances.

WBPSC WBCS Selection Process 2025
The WBPSC WBCS Selection Process comprises the Prelims, Mains, and Interview stages. Of these, the Prelims Exam is only qualifying in nature, while the marks scored in the Mains and the Interview are considered while preparing the merit list.
Prelims
The WBCS Prelims is an objective-type screening test for 200 marks. It assesses the candidate's knowledge of General Science, Indian History, and Current Events. Only those who qualify the Prelims will be shortlisted for the Mains.
Mains
The WBCS Main Exam comprise 8 papers of 200 marks each ( six compulsory papers and one optional subject consisting of two papers).
Interview
The last stage of the selection process in the interview. For Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts it carries 200 marks, 150 marks for Group ‘C’, and 100 marks for Group ‘D’ posts.
WBPSC WBCS Eligibility 2025
The WBPSC WBCS Recruitment Notification contains the relevant information regarding the eligibility criteria. Only those candidates who meet the WBCS Eligibility Criteria will be eligible for selection against the advertised vacancies.
- For the West Bengal Police Vacancies, the lower age limit is 20 years while the upper age limit is 36 years.
- For the vacancies under Group D, the lower age limit is 21 years while the upper age limit is 39 years.
- For all other vacancies, the candidate must be above the age of 21 years and below the age of 36 years.
- Candidates whose age is between 20 years and 21 years as of 1st January of the next year (compared to the year of publishing the advertisement) can apply only for Group B posts.
- The candidate must have a degree from a recognized University in India.
- The candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali. Candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali are exempted from this requirement.
