WBCS (Exe) 2024 Notification Out, Application Correction, Exam Date

WBCS 2024-25: The WBPSC WBCS (2024) application correction window has been extended.  Candidates who had applied for the exam can make any required corrections in the online application by 5th January 2026.  The last date for submitting the WBCS Application Form was 17th December 2025.

The WBPSC WBCS Notification for the 2024 cycle was released in November 2025. The West Bengal Civil Services Exam is conducted to recruit candidates for various Group A, B, C & D services under the West Bengal government. This is a great opportunity for graduates to secure a West Bengal Government Job. Key points to note about the WBPSC WCS (Exe.) Exam are:

-> The selection process includes Prelims, Mains, and an interview. 

-> Graduates between 20 to 36 years of age can apply for the West Bengal Civil Services Examination.

WBPSC WBCS Exam Dates 2025

West Bengal Civil Service Posts

The West Bengal Civil Services exam (Exe.) is conducted by the WBPSC and has a total of 19 posts under, divided into 4 different categories. The distribution of posts under WBCS recruitment is given below:

WBPSC WBCS Vacancy 2025

The West Bengal Public Service Commission hasn't announced the post-wise vacancies yet. As per the official notification, the exact post-wise vacancy details will be announced shortly.

WBPSC WBCS Apply online 2025

The candidates must complete the WBPSC WBCS Application online on the official website for the WBPSC Recruitment. Any other mode of application will not be accepted under any circumstances.

Step 1: Visit the WBPSC Website

Visit the official website of the WBPSC @psc.wb.gov.in. Go to the 'Current Applications' page. Find and click the WBCS application link.

Step 2: Register Yourself

Click on "New Registration" if you have not registered already. Enter the required details and complete the registration.

Step 3: Fill Out the WBCS Application Form

Log in to the candidate portal and fill out the West Bengal Civil Services Application Form. Fill the details carefully and review them before proceeding further.

Step 4: Upload the Required Documents

Upload the required documents such as your recent passport-sized photograph, signature, etc.

Step 5: Pay the Examination Fee

Complete the payment of the examination fee. Candidates who fail to pay the fee will have their application rejected.

Step 6: Download the Application Form

Download and save the filled-out application form and payment receipt for future reference.

WBPSC WBCS Selection Process 2025

The WBPSC WBCS Selection Process comprises the Prelims, Mains, and Interview stages. Of these, the Prelims Exam is only qualifying in nature, while the marks scored in the Mains and the Interview are considered while preparing the merit list.

Prelims

The WBCS Prelims is an objective-type screening test for 200 marks. It assesses the candidate's knowledge of General Science, Indian History, and Current Events. Only those who qualify the Prelims will be shortlisted for the Mains.

Mains

The WBCS Main Exam comprise 8 papers of 200 marks each ( six compulsory papers and one optional subject consisting of two papers). 

Interview

The last stage of the selection process in the interview. For Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts it carries 200 marks, 150 marks for Group ‘C’, and 100 marks for Group  ‘D’ posts.

WBPSC WBCS Eligibility 2025

The WBPSC WBCS Recruitment Notification contains the relevant information regarding the eligibility criteria. Only those candidates who meet the WBCS Eligibility Criteria will be eligible for selection against the advertised vacancies. 

• For the West Bengal Police Vacancies, the lower age limit is 20 years while the upper age limit is 36 years.
• For the vacancies under Group D, the lower age limit is 21 years while the upper age limit is 39 years.
• For all other vacancies, the candidate must be above the age of 21 years and below the age of 36 years.
• Candidates whose age is between 20 years and 21 years as of 1st January of the next year (compared to the year of publishing the advertisement) can apply only for Group B posts.
• The candidate must have a degree from a recognized University in India.
• The candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali. Candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali are exempted from this requirement.

• The pay scale for Group A  (Level 16) posts is Rs. 56,100 - 1,44,300 plus various allowances.
• The pay scale for Group B  (Level 16) posts is Rs. 56,100 - 144,300.
• The pay scale for Group C (Level 15) posts is Rs. 42,600 - 1,09,800 plus various allowances.
• The pay scale for Group D (Level 10) posts is Rs. 32,100 - 82,900 plus various allowances.
