Aceade’s Tales, Games and Other Nonsense

I’m a self-published author and game developer, based in Galway, Ireland. Most of my tales are historical fantasy, drawing on my background as a software engineer and amateur interest in history.

I have 5 self-published collections of short stories in this series available – click the images to visit their pages!

I am also working on combining some of those stories into a single coherent narrative, under the title of “Fomoritis Uncovered“.

Remittance Witch was my first longer-form piece of fiction instead of short stories. It’s set in a constructed world that blends Westerns with fantasy, and is heavily inspired by Skyrim and Patagonia…and my previous career as a software engineer.

The Ice Line Nightmare is a work-in-progress sequel, involving Draugr biker gangs making a nuisance of themselves, drawing some inspiration from the original Mad Max.

Salognia Sorcerers

A view through a window of a canal lined with Venetian architecture. A gondola and flying carpet travel along the canal.

A new work-in-progress project, set in the Venice-like city of Salognia. Inspired in anger by the excessively and deliberately cruel actions of ICE in the US, it involves three young mages being deported from the Republic of Agmarastia (their own country!) to Salognia for being mages.

  • Spamocalypse Aftermath is a first-person stealth game which involves stealing from a cult of spammers. Because I thought “turscar” sounded like a great name for a god of deceit.
  • FIPTUBAT (First-Person Turn-Based Tactics) is…a turn-based tactics game in the style of Jagged Alliance 2, but from the perspective of the units on the ground.

Starting in July 2025, I’ve been working on my second game, Turscar Isle. This is a partial remake of Spamocalypse Aftermath, and the free demo is up on itch.io and Steam.
