Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate the final price after a discount?
Multiply the original price by (1 – discount percentage/100). For a 30% discount on $80: $80 × (1 – 0.30) = $80 × 0.70 = $56. Alternatively, calculate the discount amount ($80 × 0.30 = $24) and subtract it from the original price.
How do stacked or double discounts work?
Stacked discounts are applied sequentially, not added together. A 20% off coupon on top of a 30% sale means: first apply 30% ($100 → $70), then apply 20% to the result ($70 → $56). This is not the same as a single 50% discount ($100 → $50).
How do I calculate the original price from a discounted price?
Divide the sale price by (1 – discount percentage/100). If an item costs $56 after a 30% discount, the original price was $56 / (1 – 0.30) = $56 / 0.70 = $80.
