Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 22, 2026
1. Overview
DebugCanada ("we", "us", or "our") operates debugcanada.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
Automatically collected data
When you visit our site, we automatically collect standard log and analytics data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. This is collected via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics.
PR tracker data
EE PR processing time data is collected and curated by DebugCanada, and supplemented by timelines voluntarily submitted by users. All submitted data is anonymous — no personal information is required or stored. Submitted timelines contain only immigration milestone dates and application type information.
Non-EE PR data is sourced from publicly shared community Google Sheets maintained by independent volunteer groups and is not collected or controlled by DebugCanada.
3. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to analyze site traffic and improve your experience. These include:
- Google Analytics cookies — used to measure traffic and usage patterns (e.g.,
_ga,_gid). - Vercel Analytics — anonymized performance and usage metrics.
- Google AdSense cookies — if advertising is shown, Google may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To operate and improve the site and its tools
- To analyze traffic patterns and understand how users interact with content
- To detect and prevent abuse or spam submissions
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data independently under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics — policies.google.com/privacy
- Google AdSense — policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Vercel (hosting and analytics) — vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
External links on this site (e.g., to IRCC, government portals, or layoffscanada.com) are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.
6. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained for 14 months by Google Analytics. EE PR timeline data is stored in DebugCanada's database. Since all submitted data is anonymous, there is no personal information to delete. Non-EE data is maintained by third-party volunteer communities and its retention is determined by those groups.
7. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under PIPEDA (Canada), GDPR (EU), or other applicable laws, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any updates.
