From my perspective you can lose them, we manage our own custom repo now (with minimal toolchains).

Would it make sense to at least contribute back the toolchain definitions in the central repo once we enable --minimal-toolchains by default (and make the robot smarter such that those easyconfigs can also be used with minimal toolchains disabled)?
