Katalon True Production Insights:
An entirely new way to test.

True Production Insights is the Platform capability that ingests production telemetry and real-user interaction data to provide continuous quality intelligence. It identifies coverage gaps, prioritizes tests and fixes, highlights regressions seen in production, and recommends targeted tests and remediation — all to reduce risk and shorten time-to-fix for production issues.

The system analyzes anonymized interaction trails, session flows, and event telemetry to identify frequent and high-risk user journeys. It translates those journeys into execution-ready test cases (UI and API) and groups them into suites aligned with feature areas. Generated tests are output in an executable format so they can run directly in Platform orchestration or be reviewed and edited in your IDE.

Production traffic increasingly includes non-human and hybrid agentic interactions (bots, automations, and third-party agents) with different patterns and priorities than human users. Testing only pre-prod human scenarios risks missing regressions that matter in production. True Production Insights ensures your test coverage reflects real world usage — including agentic workflows — so you catch issues affecting actual customers and automations before they escalate.

At a minimum you’ll need:

• A Platform tenant with permissions to configure True Production Insights;
• A mechanism to forward production telemetry (events, session traces, or summarized user journeys) to the Platform — typically via a lightweight snippet, tag manager, or server-side event forwarding;
• A Git repository or storage location (with write permissions) where generated test artifacts are stored (so they can be versioned and managed).
 Implementation details vary by app architecture; our docs and onboarding guides cover instrumentation patterns and recommended telemetry models.

Generated test cases are written as executable artifacts and stored in your Git repository or your chosen artifact store under version control. You can review, edit, and approve generated tests in the Platform or in Katalon Studio before they are promoted to active suites. The Platform tracks provenance and change history so every generated test shows its source journey, the generation timestamp, and any human edits for auditability.

Yes. True Production Insights can reconcile interactions that span multiple domains or packaged apps by ingesting correlated session traces or shared identifiers. It can stitch user journeys across micro-frontends, embedded apps, or hybrid systems and generate cross-application test cases that represent end-to-end customer flows.

The Platform models dynamic elements via variables and contextual locators rather than brittle static selectors. Generated tests use resilient locator strategies and parameterization so a single test definition can cover many UI variations. For highly interactive flows (drag/drop, canvas, webviews), the system captures interaction semantics and maps them to stable test actions or helper functions, reducing object duplication and easing maintenance.

True Production Insights continuously re-ingests production behavior and flags when user journeys change. It suggests updates to existing tests or generates replacement tests when behavior shifts. Suggested updates include the changed steps, recommended locator adjustments, and a confidence score — teams can accept, modify, or reject proposed changes. This continuous loop keeps test suites aligned with live application behavior without heavy manual rewrite.

True Production Insights collects interaction metadata (clicks, navigation paths, UI events, API call traces, and non-PII context) by default. It does not capture raw sensitive fields (passwords, credit card numbers, personal identifiers). Sensitive fields are automatically masked or excluded; teams can also supply explicit exclusion rules or client-side masking policies. The Platform supports configurable retention, export, and purge policies so organizations meet privacy and compliance requirements.

True Production Insights is built for both technical and non-technical users. Basic setup and review workflows require minimal technical skills (instrumentation and connection). Interpreting advanced telemetry, customizing generation rules, or building complex refactors benefits from automation engineers or SDET involvement. Generated tests are editable, so developers and SDETs can refine and extend them as needed.

True Production Insights runs as part of Katalon True Platform; deployment models depend on your Platform topology: fully managed SaaS, self-hosted Platform components, or hybrid setups. Organizations with strict data residency needs can use hybrid or self-hosted ingestion patterns (forwarding only anonymized/summarized telemetry to the managed service) or keep the ingestion pipeline in-house while leveraging Platform analysis.
