ginput is a suite of Python code developed by Sebastien Roche (U. Toronto), Joshua Laughner, and Matthaeus Kiel (Caltech) to generate .mod and .vmr files from GEOS-FPIT meteorology data for GGG2020 and up.
Not necessarily. Starting with GGG2020, Caltech will automatically produce the necessary .mod and .vmr files for all the standard TCCON sites and make them available for download via FTP from ccycle.gps.caltech.edu. This alleviates the need for each TCCON partner to have their own data subscription to GEOS-FPIT and their own local copy of the data. Caltech will also maintain an automated request system for this data, as was done with Jacob Hedalius' AutoModMaker for GGG2014. However, if you are going to generate a large volume of .mod and .vmr files, we ask that you do so on your own computing system.
For information on accessing the automated ginput system, see
ObtainingGinputData.
