  • fix: clothed units no longer exhibit melting body parts after being healed
  • fix: resetting unit.status2.limbs_fly_count allows wounded creatures to fly again
  • added several missing counters and flags
  • added capacity to clear wounds stored in historical figure data
  • removed the buggy CleanSelf job assignment

because it causes errors and is entirely unnecessary; the system will generate its own CleanSelf jobs if this is required

Any idea what this was setting the temperature to? Before I added it, body parts of creatures that had died by melting would always melt, and adding this fixed it.

I looked into the issue, but failed to discover what was causing it. Your method sets body part temperatures to what are initially safe levels, but they proceed to rise abnormally in a gradual manner until melting point is reached; this appears to be especially likely for clothed (insulated) body parts.

Ah, okay, it's possible I didn't notice that. If this also works for melted and resurrected creatures, it's fine with me.

A few tests later, I can say that resurrecting creatures after having submerged them in magma appears to work without issue.

unnecessary as resting units awake in a matter of ticks upon being healed

On second thought, this can be useful as it prevents units from unnecessarily walking to a hospital (rest job position) after being healed.
so as to prevent the buggy behaviour that is produced by healing a unit whilst it is the target of medical jobs
to deal with issues that were cropping up with the healthcare system, such as healed units being operated upon

unit.enemy.body_part_8a8[i] = 1 -- not sure what this does, but values appear to change following injuries

What exactly are following injuries? Injuries related to this specific body part?

Affirmative for 'injuries related to this specific body part', but I really don't know anything beyond that. To give a tangible example: severing a body part off changes the corresponding value (indexed by body part id) in body_part_878 to 0. Same for body_part_8a8 and body_part_888.

If you have a good list of things to add to the changelog (also for #52?), that would be appreciated. Otherwise I'll try to do that when I get around to updating the DFHack repo.

Here's the updated list of significant changes for this script:

  • units no longer have a tendency to melt after being healed
  • healed units are no longer treated as patients by hospital staff
  • healed units no longer attempt to clean themselves unsuccessfully
  • wounded fliers now regain the ability to fly upon being healing
  • now heals suffocation, numbness, infection, spilled guts and gelding

With regards to #52 , the noteworthy stuff should all be included in the PR description.

    Fix "validArgs = validArgs or ..." antipattern

    This prevented any edits to scripts from changing the allowed arguments without
    removing validArgs from the script's environment somehow or restarting DF. This
    was pointless - script behavior can easily be modified to use new arguments,

    Added bodyswap.lua

    A revived version of the long defunct "adv-bodyswap" with added functionality.
    This script allows the player to swap their control over to any unit present on the map in adventure mode only. Targets are specified either via their unit id or through UI selection prior to running the script. Unlike previous iterations, units lacking nemesis or historical figure data (such as wild animals) are valid and safe targets, as the script creates this data when it is missing.
