Getting Started

What is QueueFlow?+

QueueFlow is a real-time queue management web app. You create a queue, share a link or QR code with the people who need to join, and everyone can see the current state of the line as it updates. It works for anything from a barbershop waitlist to a customer support ticket queue — any situation where people need to wait their turn and know where they stand.

How do I create a queue?+

Sign in, go to your dashboard, and click the button to create a new queue. You give it a name and an optional description, and QueueFlow generates a unique shareable URL for it. From that point you can start adding people to the queue, adjusting settings, and inviting collaborators.

Is QueueFlow free to use?+

QueueFlow offers a free tier that covers the essentials. If you need higher limits or additional features, paid plans are available. See the pricing page for a full breakdown of what each plan includes.

Do I need an account to join a queue?+

No. Anyone with the queue link or QR code can view the queue without signing in. An account is only required if you want to create or manage a queue, or if the queue owner has restricted access to known members.

Features

Does QueueFlow update in real time?+

Yes. QueueFlow uses Convex as its backend, which means the queue state is pushed to all connected clients immediately when anything changes. You do not need to refresh the page to see a new person added, a position updated, or an item removed.

Can I mark queue items as high priority?+

Yes. When adding or editing a queue item, you can flag it as a priority. Priority items are visually distinct in the queue so staff can identify them at a glance without disrupting the overall order.

What are the different roles — owner, admin, and member?+

The owner is the person who created the queue. They have full control, including deleting the queue and managing other members. Admins can add and remove queue items and manage members but cannot delete the queue itself. Members can view and interact with the queue according to whatever the owner allows. You can invite collaborators by role, which is useful if you have staff who need to operate the queue but should not have full administrative access.

Can I add custom notes to a queue item?+

Yes. Each queue item has a notes field where you can record anything relevant — a special request, a reference number, or context that the person serving the queue should know. Notes are visible to members with the appropriate role.

Is there a countdown timer for queue items?+

Yes. You can set an estimated time on a queue item, and QueueFlow will display a countdown. This is useful when you want to give the person waiting an indication of how long they have before they are called.

Sharing and QR Codes

How do I share my queue with others?+

Every queue has a unique URL that you can share directly — by text, email, or any other channel. QueueFlow also generates a QR code for each queue, which is the fastest way to get people to the right page if they are physically present. You can find the share options in the queue settings panel.

Can I print the QR code for my queue?+

Yes. The QR code is displayed in the queue settings and can be downloaded as an image or printed directly. Many QueueFlow users tape a printed QR code to a counter, door, or desk so customers can scan it without any instructions needed. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see the guide on setting up a QR code queue.

What if someone does not have a phone to scan the QR code?+

The queue URL works on any device with a browser — phone, tablet, or desktop. If someone cannot scan the QR code, they can type the URL directly or you can add them to the queue manually from the management view. Staff with queue access can always add and manage entries on behalf of customers.

Privacy and Data

Who can see my queue?+

By default, anyone with the queue link can view it. If you want to restrict access so that only invited members can join, you can change the visibility settings in the queue configuration. This is useful for internal queues where you do not want the general public to be able to view or join.

Is my data secure?+

QueueFlow stores data on Convex, which handles infrastructure security including encryption in transit and at rest. Access to queue data is controlled through the membership and role system — only people with the right role can modify queue contents. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Can I delete my data?+

Yes. You can delete individual queue items, entire queues, or your account from the settings pages. Deleting a queue removes all associated items and membership records. If you want to delete your account entirely, that option is available in your account settings and will remove all data associated with your profile.
