Wi-Fi connection

SegmentController can be parameterized via Wi-Fi: which of the two Wi-Fi modes is right for you?

Wi-Fi modes

Hotspot mode

If you want to adjust your SegmentController occasionally, it is not necessary to connect it to your Wi-Fi router. Just the default hotspot mode is enough. In this case, you connect to the unique “Wi-Fi network” created by the Master Panel with your phone or tablet. There you open the website http://4.3.2.1 IP and you are already connected.

With this mode, however, you lose the possibility of several SegmentControllers talking to each other or the central Server application being able to control it.

Wi-Fi client mode

If you connect your SegmentController to a router, it will receive a unique IP address (and displayed on OLED screen) at which you can reach it on the network at any time. When you want to set something up, just type in the IP address. You can place several SegmentControllers on several tabs of your browser. It is not necessary to always connect to hotspot again and again, as they are all connected continuously.

In this case, you need a router.

You never lose control of it!

You can freely switch between the two modes at any time without losing the other settings. The SegmentControllers wait quite a long time to connect, even if you turn on your router at the same time as the Master Panels.

If your device cannot connect to your router, it opens a hotspot so you can change your settings. As a last resort, among the Reset modes there is one that sets the Wi-Fi settings to default without losing other settings.
