Redesigning, Rebuilding, and Preparation for Regionals: Meeting Entries #55-71

Meeting 55

Date: 1/15/19
Time: 3:30-5:30
Attendance: Trinity, Rebecca, Nidhir, Ananya, Josephine, Afra, Rohan

Plans/Goals

  • Reformatted our sponsorship email into a formal business letter
  • Retighten drivetrain motor mounts

What Was Accomplished

  • Started reformatting our sponsorship email into a formal business letter

Notes/Additional Information

  • At the qualifier, our chain kept coming undone because of the motor mounts, so we need to take the top layer of the drivetrain to tighten the motor mount, which is why now we’re reattaching the top layer of the drivetrain
  • GOATS came over to our workspaces today

Reflection/Takeaways

  • Trinity needs to take a break
  • We need to do a better at doing binder entries

Redesigning & Rebuilding: Meeting Entries #39-48

Meeting 39

Date: 12/10/18

Time: 3:20-6:00

Attendance: Nidhir, Trinity, Josephine, Rebecca, Jonathan

Plans/Goals

  • Try to get 3 auto paths done based on encoder values
  • CAD a new drivetrain for the planned rebuild
  • Send emails to potential sponsors

What Was Accomplished

  • Got 1 auto path done (gold center path), framework laid out for rest, just need to calibrate values
  • Started sending emails to potential sponsors from list compiled earlier
  • Finished CADing drivetrain

Notes/Additional Information

  • We plan on doing an entire rebuild for the next 4 weeks
  • We tested auto path 2, or gold right path
  • We need to finish CADing our robot with the attachments on the new drivetrain
  • Our wiring does not disconnect anymore
  • We have decided that it is not worth it to go for the crater because we do not have the ability to hug the wall to get there since we cannot strafe
  • Depot side now has a verified 72 point auto ⅔ of the cases, and the third case has yet to be tested
  • We need to decrease power on the move function because it kept overshooting and the built in pid got stuck in a loop
  • We discovered our programming lead’s math is 90% correct and only needs small changes

Reflection/Takeaways

  • We are thinking of asking for more monetary donations and calling local businesses to ask about sponsorships
