  • Have Fun
  • Prevent disconnects.
  • Perform than the last Fremont Qualifier (seed higher than 14th, have a better qual record than 1-4, be a contender for at least one judged award)
  • Stretch Goal: Make it to the semifinals
  • Extreme Stretch Goal: Qualify for Regional Competitions

Qualifier 2 – Cisco Building

Today, Omega went to our second qualifier of the season, located at Cisco in San Jose and hosted by Tacobots (FTC 11099). We improved greatly from our performance in our last qualifier, having an extremely reliable latching mechanism and improving our autonomous program to consistently sample the gold mineral. Even our win-loss record improved to 2-3 (we mostly lost due to disconnections and bad luck).

Because of our hard work, we were able to take home:

  • Rockwell Collins Innovate Award
  • Inspire Award, 3rd Place
  • Control Award, 2nd Place

Preparation for 2nd Qualifier: Meeting Entries #49-54

Meeting 49

Date: 12/29/18

Time: 1:00-6:00

Attendance: Justin, Trinity, Rebecca

Plans/Goals

  • Finish cable management
  • Figure out solution to hanging problem

What Was Accomplished

  • Mounted electronics
  • Found solution to hanging problem by moving the latch back
  • A strong spring was used to tension the return cable

Notes/Additional Information

  • We have ordered cables that we need to connect the phone and the robot which allows us to test our code

Reflection/Takeaways

  • This is the first time we are slightly ahead of schedule! All we need to now is code.
  • At first we were hesitant to rebuild, but the risk that we took paid off
